Lean & Green summit 2025

On 26 November 2025, Ronald represented K-tainer Trading at the Lean & Green Summit 2025 held at Act Eventstudios – Cleantech Park Arnhem. The theme of the day: “Together we move” – focusing on insight, inspiration, and ambition for a future-proof logistics sector.

The day started with an inspiring plenary session highlighting the role of Lean & Green in the Netherlands and internationally. The keynote by Diederik Samsom, a strategist and leader in the energy transition and long-time driving force behind the European Green Deal, connected policy, practice, and vision, offering clear perspectives on the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

Energy and business case

The Summit emphasized that companies managing their own energy smartly gain a clear advantage. iwell showcased how reducing dependency, smart charging, and energy storage not only boost sustainability but also strengthen the business case. At the same time, it was stressed that 100% sustainability is not always feasible; a realistic balance between sustainability and financial viability is key.

Mobility and infrastructure

Mobility was also a major focus: electric trucks, Total Cost of Ownership, battery storage in containers, and future regulations such as ETS II and truck levies were discussed. Connekt highlighted the importance of multimodal transport, while Leap24 showed how smart energy management can help avoid grid congestion and enable more efficient transport.

Conclusion

The Summit demonstrated that the sector is moving fast. Electrification, energy management, and supply chain collaboration are becoming increasingly important, requiring knowledge, investment, and clear decision-making. For K-tainer, it was a valuable day full of insights that support our ongoing Lean & Green star and ambition to remain future-proof in logistics.
