KleanUpTour: A World Without Waste
Rotterdam is getting ready for a cleaner future with the KleanUpTour! This unique initiative travels through the city offering a driving classroom where children and adults learn all about waste and sustainability. With the KleanUpTour you will discover why it is so important to keep Rotterdam clean and how waste can be a valuable resource.

Learning objectives of the KleanUpTour:
1. Waste separation: Learn which types of waste are separated in Rotterdam.
2. Impact of Waste: Understand what waste does to outdoor space.
3. Litter in Waters: Find out how litter eventually ends up in Rotterdam's waters and then the oceans.
4. Waste as Raw Material: Learn that waste can be valuable and serve as a raw material for new products.

Come Learn and Experience!
You are cordially invited to stop by during our KleanUpTour! Find out what we all find in our trash, who throws it away and how we can make something new out of old stuff. The KleanUpTour is a driving experience center and classroom that travels through Rotterdam for 15 weeks. From April 2024, all groups 5 through 8 can participate and learn how we can keep the city clean together.

What is the KleanUpTour?
During the KleanUpTour, the impact of waste on our planet is discussed. Did you know that a lot of trash can actually be very useful? The tour offers an educational experience where a guest teacher shows how special waste can be. The program focuses on awareness and education about waste management, recycling and sustainability.

Waste in the Water
Garbage left on the streets ends up in the canals, puddles and the Meuse River through wind and rain, eventually flowing into the seas and oceans. This contributes to the plastic soup. With the KleanUpTour, Rotterdammers learn about the effects of this waste on aquatic animals and water quality. The tour emphasizes the importance of preventing and recycling waste.

Learning about waste
Visitors to the KleanUpTour learn which waste streams go in which containers, what to do with their bulky waste, and how to reuse waste. The tour provides insight into the world of waste and sustainability and invites Rotterdammers to be more conscious of waste.

Our Contribution
As k-tainer, we are proud to contribute to this great initiative. Especially for the KleanUpTour we have had containers of the type 20' Open Side made in the colors of Rotterdam. With these colorful and functional containers we support the educational program and help spread the message of sustainability and waste management. This fits perfectly with our vision of sustainability, in which we actively try to think and anticipate sustainable solutions for a better future.
