K-Tainer Attends RPPC Promotion Event in Duisburg: A Great Experience and Future Collaborations
Published on 19 November 2024
From November 12th to 14th, 2025, Ronald and Fred from K-Tainer attended the RPPC promotion event in Duisburg, where 150 companies and entrepreneurs from Rotterdam and North Rhine-Westphalia gathered to discuss the future of port logistics, industry, and cargo flows. For our team, this was a valuable experience that not only provided insights into the future of the logistics sector but also opened up new business opportunities and collaborations.
The event started with a tour of the Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT), a climate-neutral terminal expected to handle 850,000 TEU annually. This terminal, which uses solar energy, hydrogen technology, and heat pumps, is a great example of how sustainable container transport will evolve in the future. With a modal split of 40% rail, 40% inland shipping, and 20% road transport, DGT is offering an innovative approach to intermodal transport.
The plenary sessions, with contributions from experts from the Port of Rotterdam and others, delved into the impact of the energy transition and cargo flows between Rotterdam and Duisburg. Discussions about making supply chains more sustainable and the future of raw material transport gave us valuable insights into how K-Tainer can contribute to these developments.
"It was an incredibly informative and inspiring experience. Not only did we gain a lot of knowledge, but it was also fantastic to meet new people and strengthen existing relationships," said Ronald from K-Tainer. "This experience was definitely worthwhile and something we'd love to repeat. We’re looking forward to working together on sustainable and innovative solutions in the logistics sector."
In addition to the business sessions, there were plenty of opportunities to network with other professionals. The evening ended with a pleasant dinner, where Ronald and Fred had conversations with clients and other contacts. It was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships further and explore new collaboration possibilities.
K-Tainer looks back on this RPPC promotion event with great enthusiasm and would like to thank the organizers, speakers, and participants for their valuable contributions. The insights gained and new contacts made will help us expand our role in sustainable container transport and intermodal logistics. We’re excited about the possibility of attending this valuable event again in the future.
